On May 2, 2026, a NSW TrainLink XPT set including power cars XP2006 and XP2009 was seen operating as NT31, the Brisbane-bound XPT service. The two power cars have recently been repainted into a red-based “SRA Candy” livery, reminiscent of the State Rail Authority era. The repainted XPT set has been in service since April 28, 2026. The XPT fleet is expected to be progressively replaced by new successor rolling stock in the future, making the appearance of this retro-style livery particularly noteworthy.
